The A1C test is typically listed on blood work reports under one of the following names:

  • Hemoglobin A1C
  • HbA1c
  • Glycohemoglobin
  • Glycated Hemoglobin

These terms all refer to the same test, which measures your average blood sugar levels over the past 2 to 3 months. The result is usually reported as a percentage, with normal levels being below 5.7%, prediabetes between 5.7% and 6.4%, and diabetes at 6.5% or higher.
