The frequency of A1C testing depends on your health status and risk factors:

  • Normal Results: If your A1C is normal (below 5.7%), your doctor may recommend retesting every 3 years.
  • Prediabetes: If you have prediabetes (A1C between 5.7% and 6.4%), you should get tested every 1 to 2 years.
  • Diabetes: If you have diabetes (A1C of 6.5% or higher), you should get tested at least twice a year. If you're managing your diabetes well, your doctor may adjust the frequency.

Always consult your healthcare provider for personalized recommendations based on your medical history and risk factors.
