Your morning blood sugar level, also known as fasting blood glucose, should ideally be within the following ranges:

  • Normal: 70–99 mg/dL (3.9–5.5 mmol/L)
  • Prediabetes: 100–125 mg/dL (5.6–6.9 mmol/L)
  • Diabetes: 126 mg/dL (7.0 mmol/L) or higher on two separate tests

These values are based on guidelines from the American Diabetes Association (ADA). If your fasting blood sugar consistently falls outside the normal range, it’s important to consult with a healthcare provider for further evaluation and management.
