Both Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes are serious conditions, but they differ in their causes, management, and potential complications:

  • Type 1 Diabetes: An autoimmune condition where the body attacks insulin-producing cells in the pancreas. It requires lifelong insulin therapy. If not managed properly, it can lead to severe complications like diabetic ketoacidosis.

  • Type 2 Diabetes: Often linked to lifestyle factors and insulin resistance. It can sometimes be managed with diet, exercise, and oral medications, but may progress to requiring insulin. Long-term complications include heart disease, kidney failure, and neuropathy.

Neither type is inherently "worse," but the severity depends on how well the condition is managed. Both require careful monitoring and treatment to prevent complications.
