The normal fasting blood sugar level is typically between 70 to 99 mg/dL (milligrams per deciliter). This is the blood glucose level measured after not eating or drinking anything except water for at least 8 hours.

  • Normal: 70–99 mg/dL
  • Prediabetes: 100–125 mg/dL
  • Diabetes: 126 mg/dL or higher on two separate tests

If your fasting blood sugar is consistently outside the normal range, it may indicate prediabetes or diabetes. Consult your healthcare provider for further evaluation and management.
