Blood sugar levels are categorized into different ranges based on whether you are fasting, have eaten, or have diabetes. Here are the general guidelines:

  • Normal Fasting Blood Sugar: Less than 100 mg/dL
  • Prediabetes (Impaired Fasting Glucose): 100 to 125 mg/dL
  • Diabetes: 126 mg/dL or higher on two separate tests

Postprandial (After Eating) Blood Sugar Levels:

  • Normal: Less than 140 mg/dL
  • Prediabetes: 140 to 199 mg/dL
  • Diabetes: 200 mg/dL or higher

A1C Levels (Average Blood Sugar Over 2-3 Months):

  • Normal: Below 5.7%
  • Prediabetes: 5.7% to 6.4%
  • Diabetes: 6.5% or higher

It's important to consult with a healthcare provider to understand what your specific target levels should be, as individual goals may vary based on health conditions and other factors.
