For diabetes, blood sugar levels are considered high based on the following measurements:

  • Fasting Blood Sugar: A fasting blood sugar level of 126 mg/dL (7.0 mmol/L) or higher on two separate tests indicates diabetes.
  • A1C Test: An A1C level of 6.5% or higher is diagnostic for diabetes.
  • Random Blood Sugar: A random blood sugar level of 200 mg/dL (11.1 mmol/L) or higher, along with symptoms of diabetes, suggests diabetes.

Test Type High Level (Diabetes)

Fasting Blood Sugar ≥ 126 mg/dL (7.0 mmol/L) A1C Test ≥ 6.5%
Random Blood Sugar ≥ 200 mg/dL (11.1 mmol/L)

If your numbers are consistently high, it’s important to consult a healthcare provider for proper management and treatment.
