An A1C level of 5.6% is considered normal. According to the CDC and other health organizations, the following A1C ranges are used to diagnose prediabetes and diabetes:

  • Normal: Below 5.7%
  • Prediabetes: 5.7% to 6.4%
  • Diabetes: 6.5% or above

Since 5.6% falls below 5.7%, it is within the normal range. However, it's always a good idea to discuss your results with your healthcare provider to understand your overall health and any potential risks.
