A hemoglobin A1C level of 5.7% is considered normal but is at the upper limit of the normal range. According to the CDC and other health organizations:

  • Normal: Below 5.7%
  • Prediabetes: 5.7% to 6.4%
  • Diabetes: 6.5% or above

While 5.7% is not classified as high, it is close to the prediabetes range. It may indicate a need for lifestyle changes, such as improving diet, increasing physical activity, and monitoring blood sugar levels more closely to prevent progression to prediabetes or diabetes.

Always consult your healthcare provider for personalized advice.
