The Glucose Management Indicator (GMI) is an estimate of your A1C level based on continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) data. A good GMI range generally aligns with the target A1C levels recommended for diabetes management:

  • For most adults with diabetes: A GMI of less than 7% is considered a good target.
  • For older adults or those with other health conditions: The target may be slightly higher, around 7.5% to 8%, depending on individual health circumstances.

Your healthcare provider will help determine the best GMI range for you based on your medical history and diabetes management goals.
