Borderline diabetes, also known as prediabetes, is a condition where blood sugar levels are higher than normal but not high enough to be classified as diabetes. The diagnostic criteria for prediabetes are based on the following blood sugar levels:

  • A1C Test: 5.7% to 6.4%
  • Fasting Blood Sugar (FBS): 100 to 125 mg/dL
  • Oral Glucose Tolerance Test (OGTT): 140 to 199 mg/dL

If you fall into these ranges, it means you are at an increased risk of developing type 2 diabetes. However, with lifestyle changes such as weight loss, healthy eating, and regular exercise, you can often prevent or delay the onset of diabetes.

It's important to consult with your healthcare provider for a proper diagnosis and personalized advice.
