To calculate blood sugar levels, you typically use a blood glucose meter. Here’s how it works:

  1. Prepare the Meter: Insert a test strip into the glucose meter.
  2. Clean Your Finger: Use an alcohol swab to clean the area where you’ll prick.
  3. Prick Your Finger: Use a lancet to get a small drop of blood.
  4. Apply Blood to the Strip: Touch the edge of the test strip to the blood drop.
  5. Read the Result: The meter will display your blood sugar level in mg/dL or mmol/L.

For continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) systems, the device automatically calculates and displays your blood sugar levels throughout the day.

Note: Always follow the instructions provided with your glucose meter or CGM system for accurate results.
