Normal blood sugar levels vary depending on whether you are fasting or have recently eaten. Here are the general guidelines:

  • Fasting Blood Sugar (before eating): 70–99 mg/dL (3.9–5.5 mmol/L)
  • Postprandial Blood Sugar (1–2 hours after eating): Less than 140 mg/dL (7.8 mmol/L)
  • A1C Test (average blood sugar over 2–3 months): Below 5.7%

These ranges are for adults without diabetes. If you have diabetes, your target ranges may differ, and you should follow your healthcare provider's recommendations.
