GMI (Glucose Management Indicator) on Dexcom G7 is a metric that estimates your average A1C level based on the glucose data collected by the Dexcom CGM (Continuous Glucose Monitor). It provides an approximation of what your A1C might be if you were to take a lab test, based on your average glucose levels over the past 14 to 90 days.

  • How it works: GMI uses the formula: GMI (%) = 3.31 + 0.02392 × [mean glucose in mg/dL].
  • Purpose: It helps you and your healthcare provider understand how well your blood sugar is being managed over time.

GMI is particularly useful for tracking trends and making adjustments to your diabetes management plan.
