Prediabetes is diagnosed when blood sugar levels are higher than normal but not high enough to be classified as diabetes. The following ranges are used to diagnose prediabetes:

  • A1C Test: 5.7% to 6.4%
  • Fasting Blood Sugar (FBS): 100 to 125 mg/dL
  • Oral Glucose Tolerance Test (OGTT): 140 to 199 mg/dL

If your results fall within these ranges, it indicates prediabetes, and you should consult your healthcare provider for further guidance on managing your blood sugar levels and reducing your risk of developing type 2 diabetes.
