Prediabetes is a condition where blood sugar levels are higher than normal but not high enough to be classified as diabetes. The following glucose levels are used to diagnose prediabetes:

  • Fasting Blood Glucose (FBG): 100–125 mg/dL
  • Oral Glucose Tolerance Test (OGTT): 140–199 mg/dL after 2 hours
  • Hemoglobin A1C (HbA1C): 5.7% to 6.4%

If your results fall within these ranges, it indicates prediabetes. Lifestyle changes such as diet, exercise, and weight management can help prevent or delay the progression to type 2 diabetes.
