Prediabetes often has no clear symptoms, but there are several ways to determine if you might be prediabetic:

  • A1C Test: This blood test measures your average blood sugar levels over the past 2-3 months. A result between 5.7% and 6.4% indicates prediabetes.
  • Fasting Blood Sugar Test: A fasting blood sugar level between 100-125 mg/dL suggests prediabetes.
  • Oral Glucose Tolerance Test (OGTT): A blood sugar level between 140-199 mg/dL after 2 hours indicates prediabetes.

Risk factors for prediabetes include being overweight, having a family history of diabetes, being physically inactive, or having high blood pressure. If you suspect you might be prediabetic, consult your healthcare provider for testing and advice on managing your risk.
