To determine if you are prediabetic, you should look for the following signs and consider getting tested:

  • A1C Test: This blood test measures your average blood sugar levels over the past 3 months. A result between 5.7% and 6.4% indicates prediabetes.
  • Fasting Blood Sugar Test: A fasting blood sugar level between 100 and 125 mg/dL suggests prediabetes.
  • Oral Glucose Tolerance Test (OGTT): A blood sugar level between 140 and 199 mg/dL after 2 hours indicates prediabetes.

Risk Factors:

  • Being overweight or obese.
  • Having a family history of diabetes.
  • Being physically inactive.
  • Having high blood pressure or high cholesterol.

If you have any of these risk factors or symptoms, consult your healthcare provider for proper testing and diagnosis.
