Prediabetes is diagnosed based on the following blood sugar levels:

  • A1C Test: 5.7% to 6.4%
  • Fasting Blood Sugar (FBS): 100 to 125 mg/dL
  • Oral Glucose Tolerance Test (OGTT): 140 to 199 mg/dL

These ranges indicate higher-than-normal blood sugar levels but not high enough to be classified as diabetes. If you fall into these ranges, it’s important to take steps to prevent the progression to type 2 diabetes, such as lifestyle changes and regular monitoring.
