Prediabetes is a condition where blood sugar levels are higher than normal but not high enough to be classified as diabetes. The blood sugar ranges for prediabetes are typically:

  • A1C Test: 5.7% to 6.4%
  • Fasting Blood Sugar (FBS): 100 to 125 mg/dL
  • Oral Glucose Tolerance Test (OGTT): 140 to 199 mg/dL

If you have prediabetes, it means you are at increased risk of developing type 2 diabetes, heart disease, and stroke. However, lifestyle changes such as healthy eating, regular exercise, and weight loss can help prevent or delay the progression to diabetes.
