Prediabetes is a condition where blood sugar levels are higher than normal but not high enough to be classified as diabetes. The following ranges are used to diagnose prediabetes:

  • A1C Test: 5.7% to 6.4%
  • Fasting Blood Sugar (FBS): 100 to 125 mg/dL
  • Oral Glucose Tolerance Test (OGTT): 140 to 199 mg/dL

If you fall into these ranges, it means you are at an increased risk of developing type 2 diabetes. Lifestyle changes such as healthy eating, regular exercise, and weight loss can help prevent or delay the onset of diabetes.
