Prediabetes is a condition where blood sugar levels are higher than normal but not high enough to be classified as diabetes. The following A1C and blood sugar levels are used to diagnose prediabetes:

  • A1C Levels: 5.7% to 6.4%
  • Fasting Blood Sugar (FPG): 100 to 125 mg/dL
  • Oral Glucose Tolerance Test (OGTT): 140 to 199 mg/dL

If you fall into these ranges, you are considered prediabetic. It's important to take steps to manage your blood sugar levels through lifestyle changes, such as diet and exercise, to prevent the progression to type 2 diabetes. Regular monitoring and consultation with a healthcare provider are also recommended.
