Prediabetes is diagnosed based on the following blood sugar levels:

  • A1C Test: 5.7% to 6.4%
  • Fasting Blood Sugar (FBS): 100 to 125 mg/dL
  • Oral Glucose Tolerance Test (OGTT): 140 to 199 mg/dL

These levels indicate that blood sugar is higher than normal but not high enough to be classified as diabetes. If you fall into this range, it's important to take steps to prevent the progression to type 2 diabetes, such as lifestyle changes (diet, exercise) and regular monitoring.
