Prediabetes is a condition where blood sugar levels are higher than normal but not high enough to be classified as diabetes. It is diagnosed using the following criteria:

  • A1C Test: A result between 5.7% and 6.4% indicates prediabetes.
  • Fasting Blood Sugar (FBS): A level between 100 mg/dL and 125 mg/dL suggests prediabetes.
  • Oral Glucose Tolerance Test (OGTT): A result between 140 mg/dL and 199 mg/dL after 2 hours indicates prediabetes.

Prediabetes is a warning sign that you are at risk of developing type 2 diabetes. Lifestyle changes, such as healthy eating, regular exercise, and weight management, can help prevent or delay the progression to diabetes.
