Prediabetes is a condition where blood sugar levels are higher than normal but not high enough to be classified as diabetes. It is often a warning sign and indicates an increased risk of developing type 2 diabetes. The diagnosis is based on the following blood sugar levels:

  • A1C Test: 5.7% to 6.4%
  • Fasting Blood Sugar (FBS): 100 to 125 mg/dL
  • Oral Glucose Tolerance Test (OGTT): 140 to 199 mg/dL

If you are diagnosed with prediabetes, lifestyle changes such as weight loss, healthy eating, and regular exercise can help prevent or delay the onset of type 2 diabetes.
